Taste of North Indian Cuisine

All excited to write my first blog of life and that too on a topic i love the most "FOOD". Today being a holiday for all of us, we thought of capitalizing on it and decided to go chill out and have some fun. A paradise for all Great lakers, Mahabalipuram it was. We heard a lot about Clive from our seniors so we decided to check out the place, but to our bad luck the place was closed and we could not go there.

The search began again to find a descent restaurant. We had already tried moonrakers last week and no body could find the guts to go visit again because of its pathetic food and service. We asked the localites of the place and somebody directed us towards the new restaurant opened just at the corner of the lane.

The name said Mamallan Heritage.Looking from far it was an ordinary place, the pathway to the stairs was a deserted and a dark place where there were no lights. A wrong choice again !!!! this was the next thought in each of our minds. By this time we already climbed two floors and still there was no sign of the restaurant. About to go back and look for some other place shouted a voice , “Please come sir “. Out of curiosity we went up and were astonished to see what we saw next. It was a beautiful lit up restaurants with yellow lights. Wind blowing all over the place and in the front was a small counter where all the food was served from . From the balcony of it I could see the light house with its lights moving in all directions and adding to the beauty of the place was the half moon  in the sky. We felt like we all are in a different lace all together.

Till this time we have not tried the food but the ambience of the place was so appealing that we had already got a place to celebrate the next birthday party in the group. Sitting around the table with the breeze blowing and we clicking pictures was just pure fun. It was already 10.30 by this time and we were all very hungry so we decided to order the food. The waiter came and took our order. When we were ordering our food we instantly developed a personal connect with waiter as he could speak in hindi and we were not forced to make him understand what we wanted. For the first time in the menu I saw items like paneer adraki, seekh kabaab, dal tadka and many more. Me being a veggie was only concentrating on the  veg menu. We ordered for tandoori gobi and paneer tikka for starters . For the next few minutes we were just chatting, gossiping about the college stuff and clicking pictures. And now it was time for the food, the word is “AMAZING” The food was delicious. It had the right recipe of a proper Punjabi restaurant and properly cooked. We all loved it and then ordered for the main course . The main course was also very amazing. I could not ask for more : dal makhani with kadai paneer and masala kulcha. Our stomachs were full but we still wanted to eat more. After a very long time we all ate more than we wanted and everyone was very happy with the food

We had no second thoughts that we will be visiting the restaurant again. As a customer if I think he USP of the restaurant was its target audience. They were specifically targeting the people who love north indian food. They know that the place has a very few north Indian restaurants so they have less completion and can charge a premium  for their prices. Also the quality of the food  and  services was excellent so the customer satisfaction will be high which will establish a long relationship with the customer and customer will come again and again. Also to promote their USP they have taken care of the smallest of things like the waiter taking the order could understand hindi as the target audience which the restaurant was catering to were mostly non tamil speaking people. This also helped to develop a strong personal connect with the restaurant.Along with food the restaurant also provided an amazing experience. Experience of eating the food on rooftop under the sky. All in all the restaurant had marketed itself pretty decently apart from the entry where there were no lights. It is very important that the cover of whatever that you are selling should be good , otherwise people will not buy it no matter how good your product is.

I strongly recommend each one of you to go there atleast once and try the food out there. I am sure you guys will love the food out there.I am looking forward to visiting many such restaurants and sharing my experiences with you . Hope you like my first blog. Any suggestions or comments are most welcome from all of you out there who are reading it. J
