Galerie d'art - Essence & Soul Of Creativity...!!!

Apart from the serene beaches and the breadth taking landscapes of mahabalipuram lies the heart of art and culture , unnoticed and unexplored by the
external world.
Without the slightest idea of doubt of finding the creative impressions of art in mahabalipuram i stepped into the market with an eye for search of
some monuments or sclptured statutes for which mahabalipuram is famous. In one of the narrow lanes i happened to notice a small shop with a painting
of a woman outside and a small lamp burning . Having a flair for painting i stepped into the shop and to my astonishment there lied a treasury of paintings which i thought materialised out from air , clueless i was and adored them to the wink of my eyes.

This art gallery which i am talking about is the "Shriji Art Gallery", the valour of which spoke a lot about the art forms existent in india .
This art gallery is maintained by mr.pankaj . he is from rajasthan . He makes those beautiful paintings which closely resembles indian culture and the essence of the existence of goda nad goddess himself. he owns this shop in mahabalipuram for a period of 12 years now.

The paintings were made on silk and cotton cloths tightly stretched over the canvas. appropriate usage of hevenly imaginations and water colours added to the beauty of the painitings. The price of the paintings ranged from Rs1500 to Rs 40000.

Such art forms existent in india are little known to the outer world. Mr. pankaj the sole propriter of the shop told that the business goes down for 8 months in the year and he can only make substantial sales during the peak hours i.e from november to february. also he was disappointed as he told that after 2008 the business is not flourishing .

Having an inherent flair for art , i decided not to stop my quest  by just visiting once. I decided to visit shriji art gallery again as i could not refrain myself from knowing more about this form of art .
I visited the place again and this time my motive was to make keen observations on the form of art this person was practising .

Despite being from a Hindu background from rajasthan his art showed no signs of discrimination. There were paintings ranging from Depictions of lord krishna in his childhood days to the valour of jesus and mary.
On one of the walls i could see the painting of lord Buddha under bodhi tree and the first words which came out of my mouth were "Amazingly Beautiful...!!!"

Overheading the hurdles of region , religion and cultural biases i also observed the price range of the paintings which was as low as Rs 1500 and shooting upto Rs 40000.

And this is the 40000 bucks painting. Unbelievable..!!!. The man ran the show according to the market demands. I can now relate some of the STP marketing principles in this context also , else what is the point of making and keeping a 40000 bucks worth hand made painting in a small shop in mahabalipuram? This could have been carried over to any art gallery across india , and then the answer striked me - "The market lies here" , The EVP - extra value proposition concept was beholded by each and every painting of this gallery . Hats off to the owner Mr pankaj to have been targeted such a market and reaping profits out of it.
This quest really need some brainstorming at my end to come up with the EVP and targeting part of this art gallery.
(To Be continued...)

The man who runs the show holding shows of juvenility..!!!
Toddler steps towards a massive tornado of art..
